According to census results, and worldwide survey results, two and a half billion people around the world claim to be “Christians”. That figure is over one third of the world population at this point in time. The question then is, will ALL of these 2,500,000,000, PLUS – ALL who said they were Christians and have died, since the Church began, ALL go to heaven -:
In order to answer this question, we must examine some of the teachings of our Lord Jesus, and of His Apostles.
Mat 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. v:22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ v:23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Here we see that Jesus is giving a very clear warning to Christians; NOT ALL who call me their Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, indeed Jesus goes on to say that ONLY those who DO the will of God will get into Heaven.
SO WHAT IS GOD’S WILL? God’s will is the same for us, as it was for Jesus, (John 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. ) God’s will for us is to live our lives in such a way as it will bring honour and glory to HIM; Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Jesus even goes on to say that MANY will claim to have prophesied in His name, cast out demons, and even done many miracles, but Jesus will deny He knows them. The reason for this is that there are MANY – “FALSE” Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Popes, Pastors, Priests, Teachers, etc. etc. in the world who prophecy in the name of Jesus, cast out demons, heal the sick, and even perform miracles.
Sadly, all too often these things have been done to build themselves up in the eyes of the world, or to build up their own little kingdom on earth, using their ministry or church to amass wealth and riches for their own use, not for the work of the Lord. This sort of ministry, rather than bringing honour and glory to God, brings dishonour, shame and disgrace to the Lord and also to His church.
The message here to all Christians is this – The Lord knows our thoughts and intentions, He knows our motives and our desires, He knows our attitude toward him and towards other people.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; Who can know it? Jer 17:10 “The LORD searches the heart and examines the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”
Here is another warning the Lord gives us. In this passage the Lord says that here are FEW who find the way which leads to life. I don’t think that 2,500,000,000 would be rated as FEW. This warning is followed by a further warning about “False Prophets”, and this of course applies to all false “Teachers” whatever their “Title” maybe.
Mat 7:13-16a “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. v:14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, there are FEW who find it. v:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. v:16 a You will know them by their fruits.
If the teachings of ANY “Christian” contradicts what the Bible says, it is coming from a “False Christian” or as Jesus calls them in Matt 13:24-30 “TARES” The Farmer = Jesus, who sows good seed, “Wheat = Christians” the enemy = Satan, who comes and sows Tares. “Tares = Counterfeit Christians” Who say they believe, but don’t.
These counterfeit wheat seeds will “act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them Godly.” See 2Tim 3:5. It is difficult to spot these weeds until the plants are fairly well developed, by then the Tares have become intertwined with the wheat, making it almost impossible to pull them out without pulling out the intertwined wheat also. The “End of the AGE” is the end of the “Kingdom Age” at the end of the millennium. The Church Age, ends with the Rapture.
When I was training to be Real Estate Salespersons, our tutor advised us to join the biggest church in the district, and make friends with the congregants so when they wanted to sell their property, we would have a good chance of the owners giving us the listing. It didn’t matter whether we were Christians or not, just join churches, sports clubs, Parent & Teacher Associations etc. then work your way up to the top position, become popular and sell lots of Real Estate.
Counterfeit Christians are preaching their counterfeit gospel from the pulpits of many churches today, especially in the Western World. Some of these Counterfeit Christian leaders are becoming very popular. 2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers. The final result is “Apostacy” which we see everywhere today.
Others less charismatic, are seeing their church numbers drop away until finally they are forced to close the doors of their churches, or sell them to other religions, usually Islamic. This is extremely prevalent in Europe today, where hundreds of churches in The U.K. and all throughout Europe have been converted into mosques.
I want to conclude this thought by saying this; I am the only one apart from the Lord who truly knows my own heart, my own desires, my own thoughts and intentions, my own motives and my own attitude toward other people, toward the Lord and toward His Word the Bible.
You are the only one apart from the Lord who truly knows your own heart, your own desires, your own thoughts and intentions, your own motives and your own attitude toward other people, toward the Lord and toward His Word the Bible.
“Mat_10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me” Jesus is not simply talking about our parents or our children in this passage, Jesus is talking about ANY PERSON, and He is talking about ANY THING which comes first in our lives. Anything which comes before Jesus in our life is an idol, and this is why Jesus follows that verse up by saying in “Mat 10:38 Jesus said If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. Mat 10:39 If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.”
Jesus gave up EVERYTHING for us, if we truly love Him with all our hearts, we will be prepared to give up EVERYTHING for Jesus, including our lives, otherwise we are not worthy of the title of being called a Christian.
This is why Jesus said in Mat 22:14 “Many are called, but few are chosen.” Only a few are prepared to give up everything for Jesus.
Rom 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Rom 12:3 Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
The Watchman must call the alarm BEFORE he can see exactly what it is on the horizon, in order to give his city time to prepare for battle if necessary. This means that there will be occasions when it may be a false alarm, but this can also be used as a practice drill so it is a good thing, not a bad thing. TAKE THE SAFE PATH – BE READY.
As a Watchman, I see the end time signs in every sphere of life, right around the world, of the soon coming return of Jesus for His Bride, but I must warn that He is coming for the FEW, for the TRUE BELIEVERS, not for all the two and a half billion who label themselves “Christian” on the Census papers, but have not been born of the Spirit of God. Time is running out rapidly, you must make sure YOU are ready.
“Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.” Is your heart saying “Come Lord Jesus?”
