Further to my conclusion that Christians have been given NO day, NO month, and NO warning as to when Jesus will come for His Bride, I would like to add some additional thoughts on the matter. The Feasts of The Lord were NOT given to the Church, they were given to Israel, and we must differentiate between Israel and the age of “Law” and the Church, and the age of “Grace”. They do not overlap each other.
It was always, to the Jew first, Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans, v6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Even Pentecost was for the Jew first in the upper room in Acts Chapter 2, it was not until some time later in Acts 10:44 in the house of a gentile named Cornelius, that “While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.”
I believe that God fulfilled Pentecost to National Israeli believers first, because The Feasts of God were given to Israel, NOT to the Church. Spiritually, “Israel” is God’s Bride, and Spiritually “The Church” is The Bride of Christ. Will Jesus come for His Bride on the Feast of Trumpets? Possibly. Will Jesus come for His Bride on the Feast of Pentecost? Possibly.
Dr Chuck Missler believes that more likely? Quote “Every year there are people studying the Feasts of Moses to determine when the Rapture will take place. They like to hang their hats on things like the sound of the trumpets on the “Feast of Trumpets” Yom Teruah, or on celebrations like the Feast of Tabernacles.
If the Rapture takes place on a feast day, though, the most likely feast is Pentecost, the Feast of Shavuot. Shavuot is celebrated as the birthday of Enoch as well as the traditional date of his rapture. Therefore, if Enoch is a type of the Church caught up to God before the day of Judgment, then Shavuot makes the most likely candidate.” End Quote by Missler, Dr Chuck. The Rapture: Christianity’s Most Preposterous Belief (Kindle Locations 852-854).
Will Jesus come for His Bride tomorrow? – Possibly.
Will Jesus come for His Bride when nobody expects it? – Absolutely Positively according to Jesus. Mat 24:44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Is Jesus speaking here to the Church, yes, because when He returns at the second coming, everybody will know the exact day of His coming, as it is foretold in scripture, Dan 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.”
So we can see that after 1290 Jesus returns to earth to fight His, and Israel’s enemies, and to put down evil and judge the nations, as is seen and confirmed in Mat 25:31ff in the judgement of sheep and goat nations. Then Daniel goes on in Dan 12:12 to say, “Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days”. That is because all those who survive this time of judgement will be counted as blessed, because they will enter the millennium period.
If we stop watching and waiting now, because we are fixated on a particular day, whether the Feast of Trumpets, or the Feast of Pentecost, or the Feast of First Fruits, then we run the risk of taking our eyes off Jesus and getting them on the things of earth, becoming discouraged and disappointed, and not maintaining our relationship with the Lord as we ought.
As I pointed out in the previous article, the thing that kept the early church alive and vibrant was their belief that Jesus could come on any day at all, and as I showed, nearly every Apostle wrote that in their Epistles.
As soon as the Church of Rome took over Christianity, and began believing the heresies put forward by Origen, (AD 184- AD 253 who was cast out of the early Church as a heretic,) and whose heresies were later adopted by Augustine (AD 354-AD 430) and became the doctrine of the Roman Church, the church began to die, they looked to a Pope instead of looking for Jesus to return and take them to heaven, as He promised in John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Augustine’s doctrine states that Jesus will not return to the earth to rule and reign, but that Jesus will rule forever from Heaven, and the Roman Church will be His rulers on the earth, hence The Pope will rule on earth as Christ, or in place of Christ forever.
That doctrine basically spelled the doom of the “True Christian Church” and the Church entered the “Dark Ages” until the Reformation, and it was because Christians were no longer looking for the return of Jesus every day for His Bride, the Church, as the Apostles had all taught.
One final thought, if the Rapture does take place on the Feast of Trumpets, it would make it very difficult for the world powers to deny that it was the Rapture, simply because there are so many books, web sites, you tube films, etc. etc. stating that is when it will happen. Millions left behind would undoubtedly have heard or seen that the Church was expecting the Rapture to take place on the Feast of Trumpets, so to put forward a very convincing alternative theory as to what took place would be almost impossible.
If the Rapture occurs at any other time, it will be easy for the world to say, it wasn’t the rapture, because it didn’t happen on the Feast of Trumpets, as the Christians had said would be the case. They could then much more easily convince left behind Christians and the rest of the world that their theory is more likely.
So we should be looking for Jesus to come for us every day until He comes. Even so come Lord Jesus. Rev 22:20… If I am wrong I am still alright.
“May the fruit of my lips, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable unto thee Oh Lord”
Here is an interesting article which came on the news today :- http://debka.com/newsupdatepopup/18506/UNESCO-Jerusalem-s-Western-Wall-Temple-Mount-are-Muslim-holy-sites This article shows that Zech 1:18-21 is getting very close to happening. Zech 1:18-21 Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns. (Horns = Empires or Powers, and these four are probably Russia, USA, EU & UN, who are trying to force Israel into giving back The Golan Heights, Samaria, Judea and half of Jerusalem to Syria and the Palestinian Arabs) v19 And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” So he answered me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.” v20 Then the LORD showed me four craftsmen. v21 And I said, “What are these coming to do?” So he said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and expect Him to come back any day, and until He does come, be it a day, a week, a month or a year, let us keep working for him until the day is done.
God Bless. Lex Cullen.
