CHAOS, CATASTROPHE, CHRIST?

CHAOS, I had a five page article ready to post on this, but my editor read it and said, “Don’t post this, it is the raving of a depressed man.   What is the name of your site?  Think about that.”    I was one week into the flu, feeling lousy, and, yes, depressed, but still my first thought was what a waste of two days work.   The next day I began to think, what is the name of my site?   “What the Bible says”, and as I was meditating on that, it flooded into my mind, I was looking at all the chaos which is flooding over the world from man’s perspective.    I had taken my eyes off Jesus and off what God’s word says, and been sidetracked by the things of this world, and as the result I was feeling depressed by it all.

For the next few days as I battled the flu, I concentrated my thoughts on, “What does the Bible say about all of this”, and I realised that YOU don’t need ME to list 5 pages of international chaos in order for you to know that the world is in chaos.    So I started again, What does the Bible say on this matter?    2Tim 3:1  “You must understand this: IN THE LAST DAYS there will be violent (perilous, dangerous, difficult, and, by implication furious: and fierce.)  periods of time.”   The passage goes on to paint a picture of the world as it is today, and it is the most accurate portrayal of today’s society that I have ever read, and it is awe inspiring to know that 2000 years ago God saw this and recorded it in order that we would realise and understand, WE ARE IN THE LAST DAYS.

Then I began to think about the words of Jesus in Matthew chapter 24.   In this chapter Jesus outlines the end of the “Age of Grace” at the request of His disciples.    The picture that Jesus paints in Matt 24 is terrifying if you are not a “True Christian”; massive wars, massive floods, massive famines, massive plagues, massive tsunamis, massive volcanic activity, massive earthquakes  (from the Greek word seismos  sice-mos’  From Strong’s Greek word 4579; a commotion, that is, (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake: – (of the seas) a tempest.)  massive tornado’s, etc. etc.

Why do I keep putting massive in?   Because wars, floods, famines, plagues, tsunamis, volcanic activity, earthquakes etc were commonplace everyday occurrences all over the known world at that time, the Bible is full of records of storms, floods, earthquakes etc.    Jesus was NOT just saying “more of the same is coming at the end of this age.”      So what IS Jesus saying?   He is saying, MASSIVE CLIMATE CHANGE is coming at the end of the age which will cause massive catastrophes in “divers places” or diverse places, places you don’t normally get these things, and it will be all over the world.

Jesus is warning His disciples, when you see these massive events on a daily basis, you know the labour pains have started, the birth pains of the “New Age” have begun, the end of the “Age of Grace” is very near.     I do not need to write down 5 pages of the once in a lifetime catastrophes that have taken place over the past twelve months for you to know that there are major catastrophes taking place all around the world on a daily basis, and getting worse.

Even the scientists are happy to admit that this world is headed for disaster in under 100 years because of climate change, but they have not calculated just how rapidly these disasters are increasing around the world today both numerically and also in intensity.    So I shall move on to the last heading

CHRIST.    Christ Jesus, God’s only begotten son who came to redeem the world and its inhabitants from the CORRUPTION, CONFUSION, CHAOS and CATASTROPHES which are flooding over the world today, back to God.    Only Christ Jesus has the answer for the world today, and He has laid out the way of salvation for us to follow if we are going to be True Christians.    In various places in the Bible Jesus makes statements which we need to listen to and take note of.    Below are just a few I believe are important.

“True Christians” are  :- 1.  Those who have been  “Born again”, John 3:3  Jesus answered and said to him, Truly,  I say to you, unless a man is born again, he cannot even see the kingdom of God.    “True Christians” are:-   2.  Those who are “abiding in Jesus Christ”, (see John 15:6   If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered. And they gather and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.)   “True Christians” are :-  3.  Those who are doing the Father’s will  (see Mat 7:21  Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, only he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.”      Jesus said “Take up your cross and follow me”.     Jesus said, “Love your enemies”   Jesus said  “If you love me, you will obey me

Now I have a few questions to ask you.   “Did Jesus Himself do these things, or does He ask us to do what He Himself did not do?      Let us look, because in a moment we are going to see something very exciting.

Was Jesus “Born of the Spirit?”    Yes,  Luke chapter 1 tells the story of Jesus being born, or “begotten” by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Did Jesus “Abide in God”?    Yes, in John 17:21  “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us.”

Did Jesus “do His Fathers will?”  Yes, Jesus said in John 5:30 I can do nothing on My own. I judge as God tells Me. Therefore, My judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the One who sent Me, not My own will.

Did Jesus take up His cross?   Yes!       Did Jesus love His enemies?   Yes, He even died for them!          Did Jesus obey His Father?     Yes, to the death.    He said, “Not my will, but thy will be done!

Jesus obeyed His Father in all things.      Jesus also fulfilled the law in every respect.     Now we come to the exciting part.  READ THIS     “Lev 25:8 “In addition, you must count off seven Sabbath years, seven sets of seven years, adding up to forty-nine years in all.
Lev 25:9 Then on the Day of Atonement (10 day of Tishrei) in the fiftieth year, blow the ram’s horn loud and long throughout the land.       Comment.  10th of Tishrei last year fell on 23rd of September.   10th of Tishrei this year will fall on October the 12th.   Remember these dates at the end of this article.
Lev 25:10 Set this year apart as holy, a time to proclaim freedom throughout the land for all who live there. It will be a jubilee year for you, when each of you may return to the land that belonged to your ancestors and return to your own clan.
Lev 25:11 This fiftieth year will be a jubilee for you. During that year you must not plant your fields or store away any of the crops that grow on their own, and don’t gather the grapes from your unpruned vines.
Lev 25:12 It will be a jubilee year for you, and you must keep it holy. But you may eat whatever the land produces on its own.
Lev 25:13 In the Year of Jubilee each of you may return to the land that belonged to your ancestors.”

Does God ask His people to do something He will not do Himself?   NO!   So is it possible or even probable, that God will set his children free in a Jubilee year and thus fulfill His own law?  YES!   I am convinced that this is the case, I do not believe in coincidence when it comes to the things of God.     God told the Israelites that every 50th year was to be a year of Jubilee, and in that year they were to set their slaves and their bond servants free, to go back to their father’s home, with no debts owing.

The Jewish Sanhedrin have stated that this Jewish year of 5776 would have been Ezra’s “Year of Jubilee” had they not been scattered throughout the earth for so long and forgotten about the year of Jubilee, which by the way, they confess was never truly kept at any stage of their history.    Is it coincidence that the “Year of Jubilee” should fall at such a time as this?    I do not believe so.   The whole world is waiting with bated breath for something BIG to happen very soon.   Do we know the day or the hour?  NO.  Do we know the season?   Yes, we are not children of darkness that the hour should catch us unawares.

I have mentioned before that Ezra brought the year of Jubilee forward by one year after the Babylonian exile, so we do not know in which year of Jubilee God will fulfill this passage of scripture, but is seems from history, that He is honouring Ezra’s Year of Jubilee in many other ways, so I believe it is likely He will use Ezra’s year to set His children free from this world also.

For “True Christians”,  I believe that the most fantastic, amazing, incredible, wonderful thing, unimaginable to our human mortal fleshly minds, is about to take place very soon,  I believe Jesus could come at any time, but He will come when the world least expects Him.   The truth is I expect Him every day now.    God Bless and keep you all.

Lex.
