The Mystery of the Lost Jubilee: Part XII – Count Your …

San Hedrin   Rabbi Avraham Dov Ben Shor states this year should have been classified a Jubilee Year in 1967, but it wasn’t.

“One of the leading ideas was that this year [5776 – Jewish Calendar] should be the Jubilee year. The reason that this year would fit is that it fits with at least one version of how it’s been counted since the time of Ezra the Scribe. The other reason is because if you count from the time that Jerusalem was redeemed, from the Six-Day War, which would be a logical time to start counting, this would be the 50th year.”

“By declaring that this is the first year of the counting, we are also saying that this WAS a Jubilee year of the EXILE. Why? Because when you are in exile, you don’t count an extra year for the fiftieth year.”

“However, we decided that we cannot start counting retroactively; that there is no legal precedent to start counting retroactively, even though we could have and perhaps even should have started counting at that year.”    (i.e. 1976 after the Six Day War when Israel regained the West Bank of the Jordan River in Jerusalem, and all of Jerusalem was again back in the hands of Israel.)

By way of explanation, the Jews did not celebrate the year of Jubilee while they were in exile.   During the exile the San-Hedrin was not in operation.    The San Hedrin had to begin counting the years from year one to forty nine, and then they could announce the 50th year as the year of Jubilee.   However, the San Hedrin was not instituted again after the exile until 2004 so they missed out on beginning the count, but I doubt God would have missed it.    The 50th year of Jubilee, would also count as the first year of the new cycle of seven years or “Shmita” years.

It is also interesting that they did recognise that it was a year of Jubilee of the exile.   They also recognised that it lines up with Ezra’s year of Jubilee as I mentioned in an earlier post, because Ezra brought the Jubilee year forward by one year after the Israelites returned from Babylon, for practical reasons.

Lev_25:9  Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

Lev 25:10  “‘Set the 50th year apart.    Announce freedom all over the land to everyone who lives there.

The 50th year will be a year of Jubilee for you. Each of you must return to your own family property. And each of you must return to your own tribe.

Lev 25:11  “‘The 50th year will be a Year of Jubilee for you. Do not plant anything. Do not gather what grows without being planted. And do not gather the grapes from the vines you have not taken care of.

Lev 25:12  It is a Year of Jubilee. It will be holy for you. Eat only what the fields produce.

Lev 25:13  “‘In the Year of Jubilee all of you must return to your own property.

Israel was set free from Egypt in a Jubilee Year, will God do it again?

Will the Church, The Bride of Jesus also be set free on an anniversary of a Jubilee Year?

The first four High Holy Day Feasts of Israel have already been fulfilled by Jesus on the very day that God had ordained; the Anniversary Day of the origin of the beginning of each feast.    The next High Holy Day Feast which Bible scholars say that Jesus will fulfil is the Feast of Trumpets, or as the Jews of Jesus day used to call it “The Feast of No Man Knows The Day Nor The Hour”   This is because the Feast cannot be announced, and the Secular New Year cannot be commenced, until the new moon can be confirmed in Jerusalem as having been seen by two witnesses, so if the first day of the Feast is heavily overcast or stormy, and the moon is not sighted the Feast cannot commence.

When the moon was sighted and witnessed by two witnesses, the trumpet was blown as the signal for the field workers to come into the Temple.    It was evening, the beginning of a new day, and the High Priest actually blew the trumpet so that the faithful would stop their harvesting, and come in to worship.

Gen 1:5  God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.   And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.     In Israel the new day begins when evening commences, not at midnight like our day does.

The Fifth High Holy Day Feast – (Yom Teru’ah) – 1 & 2nd  of  Tishri.          The Feast of Trumpets will occur on October 2nd, 3rd  or 4th  in 2016 depending on the weather and on what  time zone you live in etc.

God seems to have enjoyed the trumpet.   He used it when Joshua conquered Jericho. In Leviticus 25:8-10, he specified its use in having trumpets “proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof”   Leviticus 23:24 requires that, “in the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets.”

Many prophecy scholars believe that this jump in time from the Feast of Pentecost in May / June through to the Feast of Trumpets in Sept / October, seems to represent the 2000 years of the Church Age in God’s planning, and the Feast of Trumpets almost certainly seems to be the day Jesus will fulfil the Fifth of the High Holy Day Feasts and call His bride out from their labours of evangelising in the fields of the world, to be with Him in Heaven, and to worship God.

The picture we have here is that when the trumpet sounds in accordance with 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, living believers will cease their labours in the harvest fields around the world, and they will rise from the earth. The Church will be taken out of the world to worship God.      This feast has not yet been fulfilled by Jesus, but will be in the very near future.

If  Ezra’s Year of Jubilee is what God is working to, it could very well be that we have less than six months left until we are set free from this world, and are called with the Trump of God to our home in Heaven to worship God.   We need to get cracking and do all we can now while we still have time.

I have mentioned in other Posts that there are many things taking place today that point to the possibility of the “Rapture” happening sometime this year, and many many Christians have had signs and seen visions that something big is just around the corner.    Many Jews and Moslems also believe that their respective Messiah could very likely appear this year.

However, if God is working to His own original Jubilee date, that would still only give us until about the 23-25 of September in 2017, but I would not bet on it, as the “Shmita” years over the past century do seem to be lining up with Ezra’s Shmita years, and therefore Ezra’s Year of Jubilee, we will have to wait and see.

John 9:4  We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.  I’m reminded of the old hymn we used to sing,

This world is not my home, I’m just a-passing through
My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me, from heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home, in this world anymore.

I believe our repatriation to our true home is very close, keep looking up.
